Texas State Capitol
An extraordinary edifice by any measure, the 1888 Texas Capitol is the largest in gross square footage of all state capitols and is second in total size only to the National Capitol in Washington, D.C. Like several other state capitols, the 1888 Texas Capitol surpasses the National Capitol in height, rising almost 15 feet above its Washington counterpart.

TEXAS COWBOY Erected 1925. The bronze statue was presented to the State of Texas, "native home of the cowboy." by the notable American sculptor Constance Whitney Warren. It represents the artist's portrayal of a typical Texas cowboy riding a rearing horse, and is a tribute to the "rough and romantic riders of the range." This photo was taken on August 22, 2009
